Longueville House - 13th Annual Mushroom Hunt

Longuville House Mushroom HuntWhen Michael and Jane O’Callaghan opened Longueville House to guests in 1967, it was one of the first Irish country houses to do so - and, today, it is one of Ireland’s finest country house hotels. Its history is wonderfully romantic...

13th Annual Mushroom Hunt at Longueville House

Sundays 21st September & 5th October 2014

Don your boots and wellies and hike around the estate in search of edible mushroom varieties home grown here on our Estate. This annual Longueville House Mushroom Hunt is a fun family day out for all & ideal for beginners. Do bring waterproof hats and over coats due to our inclement weather and even a pair of sunglasses can be required!

With the guidance of Maria Cullen and Jim Fraser our very own mushroom experts, you can discover the pleasure of this exciting sport here at Longueville House. Afterwards Chef/Proprietor William O’Callaghan along with his team will prepare and cook for you a banquet of autumn mushrooms from the day’s harvest.

Please note that mushroom hunts take place in all sorts of weather so are rarely cancelled due to inclement weather. If anything they may be cancelled due to a lack of rain before the event leaving a shortage of mushrooms to hunt. Due notice will be given to participants in the event of postponement or cancellation.
