Saratoga Lodge
In a particularly unspoilt and peaceful part of the country, just below the famous Devil’s Bit in the Silvermine mountain range, Valerie Beamish’s lovely classically proportioned house on a working stud farm is well-situated on an open, sunny site looking out over the hills.
A large, pleasing garden with lovely trees and hedges, is well planted and beautifully maintained. Expect to enjoy fruit from the garden in season...
A greeting by Valerie and a friendly Irish wolfhound sets the tone for a very relaxing and peaceful stay in this lovely country house, where large traditionally furnished reception rooms open off a spacious hall, and good equestrian paintings reflect the family interest.
Bedrooms are very comfortably furnished and peaceful, with no TV - and all have lovely en-suite bathrooms. Valerie takes great pride in giving guests a good breakfast, and she’s also willing to cook 4-course dinners on request, and make picnics - this is extremely hospitable house all round.
For guests wishing to dine out, however, Valerie Beamish recommends Sheehy's in Borrisoleigh.
