Since opening its doors at the height of Dublin’s boom Town Bar & Grill has been a hit.
It’s a smart dining room, with plenty of corner tables and alcoves for the oft-spotted high profile clientele. Converted from a wine merchant’s cellar it’s a stylish space with exposed brick walls, large, well spaced tables, oversized pendant lights, terracotta tiles and arresting modern art.
Inspired by New York’s trattoria, diners will find a menu that blends rustic Italian favourites with a few more innovative choices. Think bruschetta, antipasti and gnocchi, cannelloni, risotto verde and osso bucco. More original dishes might include spiced quail salad or confit of duck leg with plum chutney.
This Dublin restaurants excellent wine list is extensive and has been well chosen to accompany the style of food.
Although the cooking was inconsistent at The Guide’s most recent visit, Town still retains its charm and popularity thanks to first class service and the lively atmosphere.
