Zen

It would be interesting to know what the original owners of this 19th centry redbrick mill would make of its recent transformation by proprietor Eddie Fung into an ultra modern, stunningly cool Japanese restaurant.

To call it spectacular would be an understatement - with acres of glass and mirror to contend with if you wish to eat in the upstairs area, where you can dine in booths or hunkered down Japanese style, traditionalists may opt instead to try the downstairs dining area, where you can choose your food at the sushi bar if you wish.

In keeping with its setting, this Belfast Restaurants a place where they talk about ‘food design’, although more familiar Asian food is offered as well as cutting edge Japanese cuisine.

Now one of Belfast’s most popular ethnic restaurants, Zen offers a unique dining experience and is especially known for the authenticity of their fresh sushi and sashimi.

Seats 170 (private room, 26). Food served daily 12-10pm (Sun 1.30-9pm). House wine £15.25. Children welcome (high chair). Closed 25 Dec, 12 July. Amex, MasterCard, Visa, Switch.
