Maritime Matters - Co Wexford

Light up your Day at Hook Lighthouse. From 12 Noon to 19.00hrs Saturday and Sunday of the May Bank Holiday. Learn how the rescue services work together to avert tragedy. Meet the members and see the equipment of the Coast Guard, RNLI, Civil Defence, Navy, and others. Spectacular Rescue displays on the water by the RNLI and Rescue Helicopter.

Music over two days includes the Air Corps pipe band, traditional, sea shanties, singer/songwriters and local bands to interest all ages, Children's entertainment including art classes, fancy dress, balloons. Local arts and crafts demonstrations and sales.

Displays of Antique Ross and carrickmacross Lace-Ships in Bottles display and demonstrations. 'Coastguard of Yesteryear display';Traditional boat building; Holistic tent. Parking for this event is located approx 1/2 kilometre from the venue, a shuttle bus is provided free of charge or a short walk by the Seaside.
