A couple of miles outside Dromore and with lovely countryside views across the River Lagan valley to the rear, the Tinsley family's fine property has a period feel to it although it is a recent build.
Thoughtfully designed by architect Des Ewing and meticulously handcrafted with reclaimed materials, there are two family homes on the property and also a traditional coach house where Andrew and Sharon Tinsley offer guest accommodation in two beautiful en suite rooms on the first floor.
They have obviously had fun furnishing and decorating the luxurious rooms. While different, 'Amaryllis' and 'Clementine' are both finished to the highest standards in an upbeat period style with king size beds (dressed with fine Egyptian cotton and comfy duvets, they can also be made into twins), Edwardian wardrobes and plenty of quirky details as well as modern conveniences such as flat screen televisions and free Wifi.
The ensuite bathrooms are lovely too, with quality toiletries, monogrammed towels, bathrobes and slippers - visitors who enjoy a good soak will love Amaryllis, with its handsome free standing bath and shower, while Clementine has a large walk-in rainfall shower.
Nespresso coffee makers and homemade cookies on the hospitality trays give a clue to what to expect when it comes to food and drink - and Sharon's love of cooking is given free rein at breakfast, which is served in the family dining room (or on the terrace in fine summer weather) and features local produce such as handmade sausages and traditionally cured bacon from the family's butcher, Glenarm smoked salmon and some of the delicious baking that Northern Ireland is famous for, including wheaten bread and potato bread.
Guests also have use of a very comfortable sitting room at any time - and there's a hot tub with a view in the garden too.
All round, this is a lovely place to stay - and made all the more enjoyable by Andrew and Sharon's easy hospitality and their welcoming family.
