B&B from about €60-90 pps, ss €20. Leisure centre, indoor swimming pool. Free WiFi, business centre. Own parking. No pets. Closed 24-26 Dec. Amex, Diners, MasterCard, Visa. abbreviations

The Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre is in the midst of a major renovation and extension project, which will transform the hotel but may cause some disruption until the end of 2020.

But a central location within easy walking distance of everything in Waterford city, ample secure private parking, large conference/banqueting capacity and excellent on-site leisure facilities all remain reasons for staying at this big hotel, which is the flagship hotel of the FBD Hotels Group and a sister property to the beautifully located Faithlegg House Hotel (see entry).

Some elements of the works are complete, however, including the new Pier 37 Bar & Grill, which enjoys views over the Suir River. With floor to ceiling windows, it is a bright and relaxing space to dine whether you are staying in the hotel or just dropping in for a bite of lunch.
