Communication problems in the hospitality industry

Ireland experienced a big influx of foreign workers for the first time in recent years. This was welcomed by most and has resulted in a more cosmopolitan Ireland, particularly in urban areas.

Many of these non-english speaking immigrants pursued employment in the hospitality industry and many customers found that communication was often an issue.

Do you find that language is proving to be a barrier to communication with the foreign staff in hotels and restaurants around Ireland today?

Yes, we often encounter communication problems in hotels and restaurants due to employees having a poor grasp of English
This used to be a problem but has greatly improved recently
No, I have never had any problems
