An array of costumed re-enactors from the Bronze Age to Medieval times. Activities include combat demonstrations, Brehon law trials and much more!
See re-enactors dressed in costumes spanning from the Bronze Age, through Iron Age, Early Medieval to 16th Century at a special ‘Lughnasa’ Festival celebration at Craggaunowen.
The festival will have a multitude of ongoing displays demonstrating various aspects of Ireland's history and heritage, from different time periods with showcase events such as a Brehon Law Trials and a hand-to-hand combat demonstration. Visitors will get a unique glimpse of what living conditions were like for Celtic families living in a Crannóg from costume, demonstrating and discussing aspects of Bronze Age and Iron Age technology and lifestyle.
Also on show will be a range of replica Bronze Age clothing, artefacts, weapons and jewellery, for the public to inspect. Amongst other offerings, life during the Medieval period will also be featured.
