The West Cork Chamber Music Festival is one of the leading chamber music festivals in Europe and is renowned for its exciting programme of much loved works from the heart of the repertoire alongside new contemporary music.
Amongst the highlights of previous festivals were the Bantry debut of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the return of star violinist Nicola Benedetti, the Norwegian ensemble Barokksolistene with its message that baroque music is just old pop music and leading Irish tenor Robin Tritschler's performance alongside the celebrated pianist Graham Johnson with similar planned for this year.
The festival features morning talks where audience can meet the artists, coffee concerts at 11am, afternoon recitals, town concerts, main evening concerts and late night performances as well as a renowned platform of master classes for young musicians. A violin making exhibition takes place during the week.
