Eigse Michael Hartnett Literary Festival - Co Limerick

Éigse Michael Hartnett is a festival of words in many guises; poetry, song, drama, stories and conversations.

The festival, which honours the poetry and memory of Michael Hartnett, comprises a weekend of reading, lectures, and theatre performances.

Hosted in the library, the pubs, schools and eating houses of Michael Hartnett's hometown of Newcastle West, the Éigse celebrates Hartnett, the poet and the man.

This year's programme features poets and singers of national and international renown, as well as first time authors and dramatised new work.
