Carrick-on-Shannon (Irish: Cora Droma Rúisc) is situated in County Leitrim on the County Roscommon border. The town's situation on the River Shannon has resulted in it becoming one of the most popular destinations for cruise holidays in Ireland. It is also a very popular fishing destination and there is a golf course on the outskirts of the town.
