Limavady

The borough surrounding Limavady is comprised of the fertile Roe Valley and is encircled by the Sperrins.  It boasts an enviable seven mile strand which has won the European blue flag award. 

Much of the Limavady borough has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.  Ballymaclary nature reserve (0044 28 77 722 074) offers visitors guided tours of the sand dunes and the rich varied plant life, access only arranged through the warden. 

Magilligan nature reserve (0044 28 77 722 074) is well worth a visit as it is home to a very impressive sand dune system.  Visitors will enjoy the beautiful countryside in the various forests in the area such as Binevenagh forest (0044 28 77 722 074), and hiking on the Binevenagh Mountain (0044 28 77 722 226). 

There is also a scenic drive across Binevenagh Mountain named Bishop’s view with excellent panoramic views of the surrounding area taking in Lough Foyle and the strand at Magilligan Point.
