Carlingford Oyster Festival - Co Louth

Saturday 11th - Sunday 12th August 2012

Carlingford Oyster Festival was held every year until the late nineties and was revived again and is now in its 5th year, still celebrating the Oyster and now more of a family-oriented festival.

Two days of Oysters galore, Oyster treasure hunt, world crab fishing, street and bar entertainment, wine reception, food markets and the famous Chowder tasting, sponsored by all the local restaurants. Regatta on Carlingford Lough, guided medieval tours of Carlingford, children's disco, pavement art for kids and parades.

Two of the newer and very popular events are 'Teddy Bear's picnic' and 'The Ice Cream Eating Competition'. Great entertainment for the children and many prizes to be won. Plus much more, not to be missed.
