Wexford, Co. Wexford
Wexford (derived from Old Norse: Waes Fjord, also Irish: Loch Garman, Latin: Menapia) is the county town of County Wexford. It is situated at the mouth of the River Slaney near the south-eastern tip of Ireland, close to Rosslare Europort. Recently Wexford enjoyed a building boom resulting in new developments across the county and town.

Every year the town hosts the Wexford Opera Festival, attracting music lovers and revellers from all over the world. The history of Wexford goes back to pre-Christian times, as a trip to the Irish National Heritage Park in nearby Ferrycarrig will illustrate.
