Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel
Georgina Campbell
Maire O’Connor’s former sporting lodge is romantically located on the shores of Lough Inagh and makes a delightful small hotel, with an hospitable country house atmosphere, and large, well-proportioned rooms - including an appealing bar with a big turf fire.
This wedding venues got a choice of churches in the area, and wedding blessings are possible here too; Maire and her team will give every assistance with your wedding plans, offering lists of local suppliers for everything from vintage cars to helicopters or a coach for guests; music can be organised (a harpist, string quartet, piper, or traditional musicians & dancers are all possible), and a red carpet, candles and flowers for tables, and a cake stand and knife are all available on request, without charge.
The Reception is held in the Finisglen Room, a handsome dining room with deep green walls and graceful spoonback Victorian dining chairs, and the decoration can be undertaken by the hotel, or the wedding party (with the hotel’s co-operation), as preferred. The food is good and head chef Julie Flaherty sometimes offers less usual choices such as starters of air-dried Connemara lamb, which is a local speciality.
Very comfortable accommodation includes several rooms with four-posters, and all have views of the lough and the Connemara landscape; due to the size of the property, there is no complimentary bride and groom accommodation, but keen rates are offered at certain times of year.
