Drenagh
Situated in lovely countryside near Londonderry, the McCausland family’s fine Georgian manor dates back to 1830 and is one of the great houses of Northern Ireland. Designed by Sir Charles Lanyon, who engineered the scenic coast road between Larne and Portrush and was later responsible for many of Belfast’s finest buildings, the house is large even by standards of the day, and it is set in beautiful gardens and immaculately presented with lavish interiors, antiques and luxurious furnishings.
This wedding venues got a choice of local churches nearby and wedding blessings are possible at the house, where guests have use of a series of grand public rooms including the morning room, drawing room, dining room and a fine pillared hallway - and the large lawns are suitable for a marquee.
A comprehensive wedding service is offered, including organisation of any kind of transport from a vintage car to a helicopter, and provision of on-site services including a beautician and hairdresser. The house is available for exclusive hire only and has luxurious accommodation for up to 25 guests, including some especially romantic rooms with four-poster, half tester and canopy beds (venue hire includes accommodation, and the minimum number for a wedding is 20 house guests).
Catering arrangements are flexible, allowing a sit down meal, buffet or a mixture of buffet and table service depending on the style preferred by the bride and groom.
Drenagh is surrounded by woodlands and gardens, offering stunning photo opportunities and lovely walks - and first-time visitors to the area should allow time to explore this lovely part of the country.
