Druids Glen Resort

In a stunning location between the sea and the mountains, and adjacent to Druids Glen Golf Club, this luxurious hotel just south of Dublin makes a fine venue for the larger wedding - and, for guests who can take a few days break, it has outstanding amenities on-site and, with the Wicklow Mountains National Park on the doorstep, is exceptionally well-placed for activities and outings nearby.

This wedding venues wedding package perks include a complimentary spa treatment for the bride and groom before their wedding day, use of in-house leisure facilities for all guests, discounted rates on both golf courses for guests staying in house, and a first anniversary dinner for the bride and groom in the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, Flynn’s Steakhouse.

Wedding blessings are not possible here at present but there are several churches in the area, including a very quaint old style church at Kilquade, just three minutes’ drive away. A comprehensive wedding service is offered and the wedding co-ordinator will work directly with the bride and groom right up to the wedding day.

The reception is held in the James Joyce Ballroom and the menu price is for a 5-course sit down dinner; this also covers the cost of the extras and ‘complimentary’ items, and a menu tasting is organised two months before the wedding. Food at the hotel has an international flavour, but there is a commitment to using local Irish ingredients, where possible.

Floral centre pieces, mirrors and tea light candles are included on all tables as part of the package, but extras - such as chair covers - are the responsibility of the couple, and details of local services can be supplied.

Accommodation is exceptionally spacious and comfortable - suites and guest rooms, many of them “double/doubles” (with two queen sized beds), have individual ‘climate control’ (heating and air conditioning), and all bathrooms have separate bath and walk-in shower.
