Galway Garden Festival

Saturday 9th - Sunday 10th July 2011

The second annual Galway Garden Festival is scheduled to take place at Claregalway Castle on Saturday and Sunday, 9th and 10th July 2011. The festival will be open from 11.00 to 18.00 each day. Catering facilities will be provided on site throughout the event.

Speakers at the 2011 event are:

Gordon D’Arcy, Naturalist and Writer
Dr. John Feehan, UCD
Dr. Matthew Jebb, Director, Botanic Gardens, Dublin
Niall McCoitir, Writer and Folklorist, Dublin
Thomas Pakenham, historian, arborist and writer
Prof Oliver Rackham OBE, Cambridge University
Prof. William Smyth, UCC

It is expected that between 30 and 40 specialist nurseries will attend and provide an opportunity for visitors to purchase rare, unusual and special plants at reasonable prices. In addition to this, retailers providing garden furniture, pots, sculptures, ornaments and tools, are also invited to participate.

All profits from the gate entry will be donated to Christian Blind Mission, Ireland.
