Festival of the Fires Uisneach - Co Westmeath

Saturday 30th April - Sunday 1st May 2011

In May, an event unlike anything ever witnessed in modern times will take place on the gentle, rolling slopes of the Hill of Uisneach in County Westmeath, one of the Ireland’s most historic and sacred sites.

The event, which we are calling Festival of the Fires, is a rebirth of one of the world’s oldest recorded festivals, Bealtaine – an international celebration recounted in dozens of ancient texts and recognised and attended by clans and nations from all over the world.

As it was in ancient times, the festival will be a cultural celebration on a national scale, involving all 32 counties and created through the alchemy of ceremony, music, theatre, literature, holistic health, art, crafts, sustainable living and much more.

It will feature the collective talents of thousands of participants and artists from all over the world.
