Rosleague Manor Hotel

Mark Foyle’s graciously proportioned, pink-washed Regency house looks out serenely across gardens planted with rare shrubs and plants to a tidal inlet and the mountains beyond. It is a lovely wedding venues, and there is nothing in the slightest bit formulaic about the way things are done here - each wedding is tailored to cater for different preferences and budgets, so Mark and Front House Manager, Loreta Joyce, work closely with each couple to achieve the magic for them.

There’s a choice of churches nearby and blessings are also possible on the lawn, in the courtyard and in the conservatory. Wedding parties have full use of the house, which has two drawing rooms with log fires and a beautiful conservatory bar with double doors leading out to a heated patio, which is ideal for a band, singing and dancing.

The classical dining room, with mahogany furniture and a fine collection of plates on the walls, is used for the reception - always a sit-down meal - and, although you can bring more elaborate arrangements if you wish, simple fresh flowers from the garden are provided without charge.

Each couple chooses their own menu from the full range of dishes served at Rosleague, and there is no price differentiation between, for example, breast of chicken and rack of lamb; for smaller numbers (under 50) more choice can be offered with no extra charge. Rosleague sleeps 45-50 and the best option for extra guests is to stay at Foyle’s Hotel in Clifden, owned by Mark’s brother; a coach is provided to take them to the church and then on to Rosleague Manor. The coach makes several return trips to Foyle’s later that night - painless.

This is a very pleasant, peaceful place to stay after the wedding and it would be madness to rush away; on-site there’s a tennis court, 30 acres of gardens and mature woodlands for walks, also golf, fishing, horse riding, boat trips and hill walking nearby - all of wonderful Connemara to explore.
