Wexford Art in The Open

Friday 29th July - Monday 1st August 2011

Europe’s largest plein air painting event, the 4th annual Art in the Open brings international artists to join painters from all over Ireland to paint on location.

The riverside town of Enniscorthy and the seaport of Wexford are the setting for a holiday weekend of art and fun which includes demonstrations and workshops, artists’ BBQ, music and fellowship. 3 days of painting culminate on Monday 1st August in a grand exhibition of paintings with awards presented by the mayor of Wexford.

Come to paint or come to learn from the experts, compare styles and techniques, meet the artists or perhaps pick up a little masterpiece, completed as you watch. All are welcome to register for only €25 and have your canvases or paper stamped on the reverse to enter the event.

Artists can also enjoy 6 additional days painting in Ireland’s sunniest landscape, Meet other painters and enjoy the craic at this unique event in Ireland’s cultural calendar.
