Hopkins International Literary Festival - Co Kildare

Saturday 23rd - Friday 29th July 2011

The Hopkins Literary Festival attracts participants from all over the world. Important writers from various countries will include: Yiorgos Chouliaras (Greece); Shizue Ogawa (Japan); Anatoly Kudriavitsky (Russia); Alan Riach (Scotland); Desmond Egan and other Irish poets. Lectures will explore the universal appeal of Hopkins’s poetry.

A very distinguished list of Lecturers will be headed by Francis Fennell (USA) Brian Arkins (Ireland); Aleksandra Kedzierska (Poland); Patrick Samway US) and Alla Savtchenko (Russia).

As usual, music will be of the highest quality. The Classical Concert will feature Ireland’s leading Soprano, Celine Byrne (on return from tour with José Carreras).

The Traditional Irish Concert includes leading performers. Exhibitions will feature both Irish and International artists with work by Edward Navone (USA); Michael Kane; Eleanor Swan and others. Various workshops will also take place
