The Slattery family’s unique property is an old railway junction, which was closed in 1963, and all the various buildings were converted to a make an hotel of charm and character.

Set in the heart of the Boyne Valley on 12 acres of woodland and colourful manicured gardens, it has always been an interesting and unusual place to visit, and - as well as being a good base for business, or for exploring this fascinating county - it also makes a very pretty wedding venue.

Recent refurbishment has changed the tone, introducing an elegant country house style throughout - and especially in the beautifully appointed bedrooms, where luxurious fabrics and family antiques rub shoulders with pieces from around the world.

The Station House has always had a well-earned reputation for good food too, with Sunday Lunch in The Signal Restaurant a particular treat that regulars have been happy to travel for since 1984 - and also Afternoon Tea which, like the menu offered in the Platform Bar, can be enjoyed outside in the lovely rose garden in summer. Ardent supporters of local producers in the Boyne Valley area, they also host occasional residential tasting dinners, when seasonal fare from the region is showcased with pride.

Historic sights including Tara Hill and Newgrange are just 15-20 minutes away and yet - despite the other-worldliness of the area and the ambience of the hotel itself - Dublin city centre or Dublin Airport are only around half an hour's drive.
