Formerly The Westin Dublin, this well known city centre destination became The College Green Hotel (part of Marriott International's Autograph Collection) in October 2023.
Two Victorian landmark buildings provided the starting point for this impressive Dublin hotels build, and part of the former Allied Irish Bank was glassed over to create a dramatic lounging area, The Atrium, which has a huge palm tree feature and bedroom windows giving onto it like a courtyard, while an additional space, the Library Lounge, has since been created.
The magnificent Banking Hall makes a stunning conference and banqueting room, and the adjacent Teller Room is an unusual circular boardroom - while the vaults have found a new lease of life as The Mint Bar, with its own access from College Street, where cocktails and modern Irish dining are offered. Featuring a vaulted ceiling and "feeling exclusive but welcome to all", this is a dining destination with a difference and Executive Chef Stephen Maguire and his team clearly enjoy celebrating both the unique setting and local ingredients with carefully designed dishes that reflect the bar’s energetic vibe and its famous cocktails. Add in caring service and an extensive wine and drinks list to accompany, and a visit here promises to be a memorable occasion.
It's an intriguing building in every way, especially for those who remember its former commercial life, and it has many special features including the business traveller's 'Guest Office', designed to combine the efficiency and technology of a modern office with the comfort of a luxurious bedroom. Accommodation overall is luxurious and thoughtfully appointed - all of the rooms have air-conditioning, signature bedding, Nespresso machines, luxury amenities, some rooms with balconies. For the ultimate in luxury, the split-level penthouse College Suite has views over Trinity College (and its own private exercise area), and there are also 19 beautiful newer bedrooms overlooking Trinity College and College Green.
Parking is very limited (some valet parking is available, if arranged at the time of booking accommodation), but public parking at the Fleet Street Q-Park is nearby.
With its historic location in an 1863 former bank building and many heritage features, The College Green Hotel oozes character and style - and its nearby attractions include Trinity College, Temple Bar, Grafton Street, Dublin Castle, National Gallery, and more.
